Anime Studio – Animating On Top Of Video

HI ERIC,
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT PUTTING ANIMATION ON TOP OF
RECORDED VIDEO IN ANIME DEBUT 7. CAN IT BE DONE? IF SO HOW IS IT DONE?
THANKS IN ADVANCE,
VERNE

How to add animation on top of  a movie:

It’s really easy.  Just click File>Import>Movie…  Import your video, then animate as normal.  Just make sure that in your layers tree your video layer is below (in back of) your animation layers.

Not only does this allow you to make cartoon/movie hybrids like Roger Rabbit or Cool World, but you can also use it as a cheap special effects editing tool.  It’s so easy to add fireballs, laser beams, or even light sabers to a video.

I was considering buying Camtasia a while ago for blurring out logins and such in some tutorials I was making for web SEO.  Since Windows Movie Maker didn’t include any effects to help me blur or pixelate my logins and paswords, I would have had to buy Camtasia.  Fortunately, Anime Studio Debut let me import movies and completely blur our or black out logins, and it was a very cheap alternative.
